Replays without erasing history
Your first Completed log is a time capsule. A replay is a new event.
Keep the original score
Don’t silently edit a 2019 rating because 2026-you is wiser (or more jaded). Add a note on a new Active→Completed cycle, or append “Replay 2026: still a 9, combat aged.”
What changes on replay
Difficulty mods, new DLC context, better hardware, or simply being older — capture that. “Story hits harder as a parent” is a real review sentence.
When the score should change
If the remaster is what you replayed, prefer the remaster’s catalog entry. If it’s the same SKU and your opinion truly moved, update carefully and say why in text so the shift is documented.
Nostalgia tax
Be honest about nostalgia. A childhood classic can be a 10 for memory and a 6 for systems. Say both.
Replays are how taste evolves. Your diary should show the evolution, not a single overwritten number.
