Privacy Policy

When you register we collect your email address, username, and password (stored as a secure hash). If you use logging features we also store play status, ratings, hours played, notes, reviews, favorites, and profile details you choose to add (such as display name, bio, avatar, and interests). If you contact us, we receive the message content you send.

Playlogs stores authentication tokens in your browser’s local storage so you can stay signed in. Theme preference may be stored in local storage and a cookie. You can clear session data by logging out or clearing site data for this domain.

We use your information to authenticate you, sync and display your playlogs and reviews, operate public profiles when you enable them, send verification or password-reset emails, prevent abuse (for example rate limits and captcha on sensitive actions), and improve the product. If Google Analytics is configured, we may collect basic anonymized usage metrics.

We rely on third parties to run Playlogs:

• IGDB — game metadata and cover image URLs (images are loaded from IGDB/CDN; we do not rehost publisher artwork on our servers).
• Hosting / CDN — our app and API hosting providers process requests and logs as part of delivering the service.
• Email provider — if enabled, for verification and password-reset messages.
• reCAPTCHA — on password-reset requests when enabled, to reduce abuse.

We do not sell your personal data.

If your profile or library is set to public, or you publish a community review, that content may be visible to other users and to search engines. You can change profile privacy in Settings.

You can update many profile details in Settings. To request deletion of your account and associated personal data, email legal@playlogs.net from the address on your account (or include enough detail for us to verify ownership). We will process reasonable requests subject to applicable law and any needed retention for security or legal obligations.

We keep account and log data while your account is active. After a verified deletion request, we remove or anonymize personal data as reasonably practical.
