Sappho lives a life that is enviable in its small luxuries. Married to a successful businessman, Tom, with a four year old daughter and a new baby on the way, she has few worries, apart from missing her native Greece. One day she befriends a young Iranian woman in the children's playground, and when she learns of her situation, invites her into her home. One day, on the street, she sees a face she recognises from her girlhood in Athens, and her well-ordered life is thrown into turmoil.
