About This Game

Far Cry Instincts is a reimagining of the original Far Cry, rebuilt for Xbox by Ubisoft Montreal in collaboration with Crytek. Players take on the role of Jack Carver, a former U.S. Navy serviceman turned illegal arms dealer who fled to Micronesia after a price was put on his head by the Mob. When a journalist hires him to ferry her to a remote archipelago, Jack's boat is destroyed by mercenaries and he finds himself stranded on an island hiding dangerous secrets. The game trades the open-ended level design of the PC original for a more linear, action-focused experience while introducing feral abilities, a trap system, vehicles, and an extensive map editor with online multiplayer support for up to 16 players.

Jack Carver accepts a charter job taking journalist Valerie Cortez to a remote Pacific archipelago, only to have his boat destroyed by hostile mercenaries upon arrival. Stranded and hunted, Jack learns that Valerie is actually a CIA operative and that the island is home to Dr. Krieger, a rogue scientist developing a serum that unlocks primal abilities in human subjects. After being captured and injected with the serum himself, Jack gains superhuman speed, strength, and heightened senses, but must fight his way through Krieger's forces and the mutant creatures they have created in order to escape the island alive.
