Mantle Crater

A 5 map UZDoom only wad for Doom 2 themed around the animated series RWBY.

You were told this was a Grimm infestation, what the hell is this? After a discovery of ancient artifacts deep within the caverns of the Mantle Crater, a vault was constructed by the S.D.C to contain and study them. Harnessing the powers within what was believed to be an undiscovered type of Dust, they were able to crack teleportation technology. Desperate to find any advancement that could at least slow the progress of Salem and her legions of Grimm, they were unaware, or perhaps, uncaring, of the other evils that tampering with these materials might awaken. It didn't take long for mounds of skin, flesh and blood to start growing from within the walls, and otherworldly beasts to start spilling from the S.D.C's teleporters. The facility was overwhelmed within mere minutes, the casualties zombified and portals now beginning to form both within the vault and the surrounding tunnels. By the time you were briefed and sent on your way, they were already digging themselves out and spreading to the slums surrounding the crater's borders. A cacodemon's fireball blows a hole in the side of the airship, with you being thrown out in the chaos, without even the dignity of having Crescent Rose with you when you land. Separated from your team, Aura depleted from the fall, and armed with only a fallen soldier's sidearm, survival seems almost impossible. Nevertheless, you push on. What choice do you have when humanity is counting on you?
