About This Game

A falling-block puzzle game in which players combine four or more blocks of the same colour to make them disappear. The remaining blocks then fall, potentially creating combos that send special nuisance blocks to the opponent’s field; these can only be cleared by removing adjacent blocks. The game includes a story mode, in which Arle faces computer-controlled opponents, as well as a two-player versus mode, a four-player mode, and an endless mode.

Unlike the first game’s linear Scenario mode, Tsu features a tower-based main mode in which Arle Nadja selects opponents through a roulette system. Each floor has an experience-point target that must be reached in order to progress. If the player defeats every opponent on a floor without meeting that requirement, an additional final opponent appears. If the target is still not met after that match, Arle is removed from the tower and the game ends. The experience requirements differ between versions; for instance, Super Puyo Puyo Tsu requires twice as many points to clear the first floor as the arcade and Mega Drive releases.
