About This Game
All existing owners of The Witcher 2 received free upgrades to the Enhanced Edition, and could pre-load the update starting 11 April 2012. All new copies on PC and Xbox 360 shipped with the additional content on board. The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings - Enhanced Edition added over 10GB of new content, including four hours of gameplay, arena mode, new tutorial, 36 minutes of cinematics including a new intro created by Platige Image and an outro, as well as a host of fixes to gameplay and the interface.
Based on Andrzej Sapkowski's fantasy novels, The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings continues the saga of Geralt of Rivia, one of the last of the witchers, mutated and trained monster hunters who ply their deadly trade for coin. As the story opens, Geralt sits imprisoned, accused of a crime he did not commit: the murder of Foltest, king of Temeria, whom he had sworn to protect. Interrogated by Vernon Roche, the hardened commander of the Temerian special forces, Geralt recounts how he came to be the sole suspect after a hidden assassin struck down the king before his very eyes. Convinced of the witcher's innocence, Roche helps him break free, and together with the sorceress Triss Merigold, Geralt sets out to track the true kingslayer. His hunt draws him into a web of political intrigue, rebellion, and war spanning rival kingdoms, where every choice carries weight in a world of shifting loyalties and moral shades of gray.
