Overview

Fresh out of prison, Gwang-su, a physically impaired ex-thug, returns to his quiet seaside hometown of Yeongdeok. Hardened by years of violence, he drifts through the harbor town doing odd jobs for a small-time gang involved in a shady redevelopment project. After mistakenly assaulting Yeon-jeon, a mute single mother, Gwang-su is confronted with guilt and the fragile humanity he thought he had lost. As an unlikely bond forms between them, he learns that the redevelopment scheme will force her and her son from their home. Caught between loyalty to the gang and the chance for redemption, Gwang-su must decide whether to remain part of the violence—or risk everything to protect the only people who have shown him kindness.
